This painting is full of light and soft colour. It has a real sense of spring and summer.

I pushed myself to work with a colour palette I don't normally use. In particular the bright red shade. I normally prefer deep reds such burgundy, crimson and dark magenta red. But I enjoyed the challenge and was so pleased with the results. 

And it turns out that the hues of red I used are right on trend for 2023. Pantone announced their Colour of the Year as a similar shade of red called Viva Magenta! 😁
