Dulux Bright Skies is paint Colour of the Year 2022 for homes & interiors
Today Dulux announced its Colour of the Year for 2022. And that colour is a shade of light blue called Bright SkiesTM.
Most peoples' lives were significantly impacted when the Coronavirus pandemic hit like a freight train. So it's no surprise that Dulux has taken this into consideration when looking at colour trends and deciding on its key colour for 2022.
Together with a group of international design and colour experts, AkzoNobel, the company behind the paint brand Dulux, has been looking at colour trends and how they influence the way we live in our spaces. Particularly now that our homes are also our workspaces. The colours we use, the way we incorporate nature into our lives and spaces, and the influence of art on our well-being and comfort are more important than ever.
Dulux describes Bright Skies as "a light, airy and optimistic blue that’s good for the soul. It promises to open up and revitalise your home."
We are big fans of the colour blue here at Claude & Leighton, and use it a lot in our art and design. So we like the hint of grey tone and freshness of the Bright Skies shade. Doesn't it make you think of happy summer days lying on a sandy beach staring up a cloudless blue sky?
Adding pale blue Bright Skies to walls with art
The well-known paint company has introduced four different colour palettes that work with the main pale blue shade. The colours are mostly soft and gentle and can be used to create light, comfortable and natural spaces in the home. Let's take a look:
The Greenhouse palette is all about fresh natural colours and bringing the feel of the outdoors inside. Combine the light and mossy greens with blue and natural tones to give a positive feel of nature, whether you live in the countryside or in the city.
In its room set, Dulux has added plants and touches of natural and earthy colours to work with its Bright Skies blue wall.

The Studio Colours palette includes beautifully soft and light colours designed to feel inspiring and comfortable. An escape from the world outside and a place to gently recharge.
The palette includes soft pale pinks and a lovely orange red, which Dulux has combined with the Bright Skies blue to create this lovely uplifting yet restful living space.
